A: I stayed at the Marriott hotel in Charlotte. It was football season so all of the televisions in the restaurants were showing the football channel. I usually don't ask for room service, so I hang up the "don't disturb" sign on the door. But the sign didn't say "do not disturb" it said "this room is game ready". It means that I am watching the game and don't want anybody to disturb me. I thought that was funny. Even though I was not going to watch the game, it didn't matter. I always find this kind of humour everywhere I go. In Japan public spaces are much more serious compared to the US. At registers in supermarkets or coffee shops I see "say aah and insert your chip here" to guide customers to retry their cards with the chip. Well put! I always say aah when I failed to pay with my credit card swiping. I wonder how American people come up with such unique ideas.
