¿Cuál es la diferencia entre but y yet, if they're used for conditions, ex: I like it, but you don't. can I say: I like it, yet you don't?? give me some examples about "but" and "yet" please ?
A:
From what I learned you can't say that, "but" and "yet" have completely different meanings, you can put "however" instead of "but", it means exactly what you put as an example, BUT "yet" has completely different meaning, you could say "so far" or "till now/untill now" instead of "yet", as I said, from what I know. I hope I helped and have a great day!

A:
Yes, it can be a progressive verb. “I am thinking...” But states like ‘know’ are more stationary. Thinking is a process and knowing doesn’t make as much sense in that tense: “I’ve been knowing...” can be replaced with “I’ve known...” but “I’ve been thinking...” and “I’ve thought...” both work.
Q:
In what conditions can I say "I do + verb", What does it mean ? And what's the diference between "I + verb"?
A:
when you put 'do' behind a verb it's better to imagine that the verb is now a noun, you are referring to the the concept of doing that thing.
'What do you do on Saturdays?'
'I do swimming.'
In this example it would have been perfectly fine for the second speaker to say 'I swim'. However, it is much more comfortable to respond with 'I do swimming' because it matches up with the format of the question - 'What do you do?'
