Otras preguntas sobre "Dog"

Q: when my dog is sticking his head out of a car window, how do I say to him to put his head back in?(whether he understands or not)

1. put your head back in
2. bring your head back in
3. get your head back in
4. (anything else)
A: @richurchoi

I don’t think you would say "bring your head back in" if you were outside the car, but the others work.
Q: In "I heard the dog barking and scratching behind some door deep inside the house.", what does "some door" mean? why is it that it is neither "some doors" nor "a door"?
A: Because the dog is not barking behind a lot of doors but just 1 door. the reason it's "some door" is because they don't know which door in the house the dog is behind.
Q: Why "I like a dog", not" I like dog". If I say "I like dog", what do you feel? why is it wrong?
A: "I like dogs" sounds better, to be honest.

"I like a dog" is fine if you're trying to specify that you only like one, single dog, otherwise it sounds weird.

"I like dog" sounds weird because it sounds like you like them as a food. It's difficult to explain, but when you use the singular, it implies that you mean that you like it as a substance rather than as a category of things, if that makes sense? So you might say "I like newspaper" if you mean that you like it as a material, but you would say "I like newspaperS" if you enjoy reading them or anything like that. If you say "I like chicken", then it's assumed you mean it as food, but "I like chickens" would be the living animal.
Q: Which is correct to fill the blank with?
---------------
Having lost a dog of my own, I felt great ( ? ) for Hannah when her dog went missing.

A. sympathy
B. empathy
--------------

I guess the answer is B as this person has a similar experience to Hannah's, but I don't really understand the difference between 'sympathy' and 'empathy'.
Thanks in advance!
A: sympathy: I felt bad because I saw that she felt bad. Sympathy is also situational.

empathy: I can tell that she felt bad. Empathy is a property that a person has, their capacity to understand other people's feelings.

e.g.
I have a lot of empathy, so I always know what someone is feeling. when she fell over, I instantly felt sympathy for her.
Q: ¿Esto suena natural? I want to raise a dog, but I can't. Because I was living alone, so i won't take care of a dog when I go to outside.
A: It should be "...when I go outside". The rest of the sentence sounds natural.
