Q: ¿Cuál es la diferencia entre The gentleman insisted on my receiving the money. y The gentleman insisted on me to receive the money. ?
A: The part “On my receiving the money” in the first sentence sound unnatural and a bit grammatically wrong.
Your second sentence sounds much better but remove the ‘on’
So it should be: “The gentleman insisted me to receive the money.”
Also nowadays people rarely use ‘gentleman
So even if you “The man insisted me to receive the money” it will be understood.
I don’t know if it helped but this is my opinion.

Traducciones de "Gentleman"

Q: ¿Cómo dices esto en Inglés (US)? Remember, gentleman, all these structures only served as graves to bury rulers where they lived in this great palace that you can observe. What they lived there, they did not live that way, it was only to preserve remains of the royalty.
A: It's strange to say gentleMAN singular this way in English, even though it's caballERO singular. I would translate it as either "gentlemen" or "Sir" if it was actually a single person.

The phrase "What they lived there, they did not live that way" sounds strange too, even though it's a direct and accurate translation. I would say: "They didn't actually live that way..." and omit the "What they lived there" part.

Q: What is so funny about "a gentleman with the biggest pair of bullocks" ? I heard it from the radio show of Scott Mills on BBC Radio 1. While I am aware that "bullocks" can mean "testicles", I'm not sure what the speaker was trying to say in the first place. Could someone help me out? Many thanks in advance!
A: Ahhhhhh haha :)

Actually the word for 'testicles' is 'bollocks'. As I'm sure you know, it's pretty vulgar and wouldn't be generally allowed on Radio 1. :)

A 'bullock' is a farming term for a castrated bull, raised for meat. Presumably, this man won a prize for raising large cattle.... but of course, saying it like that makes you think he has big.... well, you can figure it out!

Scott Mills *loves* innuendo humour. As does Britain in general, I'll be honest!
