Preguntas sobre ejemplos de oraciones con, y la definición y uso de "Goodly"

A: in 29 years I have never used this word. It's largely obsolete unless someone is using it incorrectly. I've see it in historical books, but that is about it.

Found these sentences though:
He had to pay a goodly sum.
I know a goodly number of people who disagree with you.
Loyalty to a sovereign is the mark of a goodly knight.

Basically I wouldn't use this word. It's just not really used anymore unless someone is being silly and purposefully speaking in "bad English" or they are trying to sound classy (super formal).
