An oaf is a stupid, unmannered, or clumsy person. A dolt also defines a stupid person. They practically mean the same thing and can be used synonymously. Both define as overall a stupid and useless person. You would use oaf mainly in a situation if someone is acting rude or uncultured. You can use dolt if someone is acting stupid or dumb.

What does "trusting oaf" mean?
Also, is "trusting oaf that I am" an emphatic version of "I am a trusting oaf" or something?
Also, is "trusting oaf that I am" an emphatic version of "I am a trusting oaf" or something?
A:
Basically an oaf is a stupid person, so a "trusting oaf" is someone who foolishly trusts. The sentence structure that "Trusting oaf that I am" has sounds pretty old fashioned. Like when I hear that phrase, I imagine it comes from a 1600s-1800s book or famous person or something like that. I don't think it's the emphatic form though, since emphatic form uses "do" and its conjugations.
Q:
can I use "oaf" in a daily conversation?
A:

It's a very harsh thing to say about someone. I wouldn't use it unless you are really talking about an absolute piece of trash. I'm talking about a slobbering, diseased, foulmouthed, twisted, lowlife, disgusting spiritual hunchback of a person.

Q:
¿Esto suena natural? "That oaf wriggled out of his duties again! I don't know what we're going to do now, but once the neighbors start getting the wind of this, his lifestyle will be at stake. I only hope they don't find this out all too soon."
A:
I would have only changed 'the wind' to 'wind' (without the article), but that's just nitpicking. Very eloquent English
