A: "Sino" is a prefix that refers to China or Chinese people while "Chinese" is used as a noun and NOT a prefix to refer to any language spoken originating in China. "Chinese" can also be used as an adjective describing things relating to China such as "Chinese food" or "Chinese decorations." "Chinese" is the more common everyday term while the prefix "Sino" is used more officially by governments and institutions. I have never even heard of "Sino" until you asked this question and I researched it. :D
