A: The first sentence is the most accurate and grammatically correct. The second uses comma splice which is incorrect. It makes the two clauses disjointed and incoherent. The third sentence, although still correct, is kind of redundant as you have already established the fact that he was a bad man and therefore don't have to reiterate that he did many bad things.

A: first one states that all of them would have died with Tome as exception to the group. meaning, Tom wasn't with them when all the rest would have died

A: The difference is that only the second one ("had had") is correct. If you kept the first part of the first one the way it is, then it has to finish "he could _do_ this trip to a Paris." But as it stands, the first one is ungrammatical.

You have seen the act completed.

2) I saw Tom getting off work.

It doesn't necessarily mean you saw the act completed. You only saw the PROCESS of Tom getting off work. But maybe then his boss called him to his office and told him to work for 3 more hours.

Does that make sense?

in US and Canada, maternity leave also includes parental leave usually :)

if you don't specify time but want to say it already happened, you say "I have heard from Tom"

Also for the last sentence, "but he didn't want to." sounds more natural.

I didn't know how he was feeling, so I put 'uneasy', but you can change it to how Tom's feeling. ^_^

His teacher shows a picture of the surface of the Moon, which is covered with dust, and then the teacher puts a planet machine on the table. When she turns on the machine, the moon casts a shadow on the Earth because the Moon is between the Earth and the Sun. The teacher explains, "It is a solar eclipse." It is amazing. So he decides to observe uncommon events that happen when a solar eclipse occurs."

First, be careful about missing "the" or "a," or which you should use. When you talk about a "planet machine," this is not common knowledge for most people and so when introducing it for the first time, you should use "a," and afterwards now that everyone has read about it, you can use "the." Also try to remember that you should use "a picture of ~" as a set phrase. "A story about ~" is fine, but "a picture about ~" sounds unnatural. The last thing is where you wrote "uncommon special events," which I guess is okay, but to me sounds a little strange, as something "special" tends to be implied as uncommon.
