A: Official/unofficial refers to whether something is recognized by an authoritative figure (e.g. the government) or an original source (e.g. Disney)

Formal/informal refers to the appearance or atmosphere of a place, person, or event. When we use formal/informal in the context of language, it refers to whether it is used in an official context or not.

A: I would say “unofficial” is more technically correct. I personally would never use “non-official”.
