@Tatyana190283 There is also "start". Maybe this is what you were thinking of in the beginning... It means the same as "jump" or "startle" but it's used a little differently.
"Oh! You gave me a start!"
"Oh! You gave my heart a start!"
"He woke up with a start"
"Boy, that really gave me a start!"
