I'm going to meet a girl from Japan soon. We are both the same age. How should I greet her? Formally or informally?

Is it your first time to see her, or have you kept in touch with her for a while? If you always talk with her informally, you don't have to speak formally. I guess it depends if she's your close friend or not.

I mean, have you kept exchanging emails with her? If it's totally first time to talk to her, I'd recommend you talk to her formally.

I met up with a girl in Japan who I spoke with almost every day for about 3 months before that, we greeted each other informally and I think it went well. Just greet her the same way you normally speak to her, maybe through in a 宜しくお願いします or よろしくね if you feel so inclined.
As minimie said, if you'd never spoken to her before definitely start with formal, it can move onto being informal from there maybe.
