'Capacity' usually means the maximum amount of something that an object can hold. For example: "The capacity of that battery is 100W" or "The capacity of that recipient is 5 liters".
'Competence' refers to the skill level that someone has in an specific subject. For example: "I have zero competence in maths (I'm not good at maths), but I'm competent (I have competence) in languages".
I hope I helped.

@yale114 Volume is a physical three-dimensional unit, it's a "space", so a bottle for example, has a volume because there's a space filled with air in there that could be replaced with water for example. As for a battery, there's no free space in it for water for example, the energy it holds is conducted so it's not the same as volume, but is still capacity. This is probably not a very good explanation as I don't have much knowledge in physics, but it is the information I gathered from living haha.
The able vs capable is a very subtle difference. To be capable of doing something means that you can learn how to be able to do it in the future. Let's say for example you have a friend that does not know how to read. You are able to read (because you can do it right now) and your friend is capable to read (meaning that he isn't necessarily able to do it right now, but he might learn it in the future).
Those were very tricky questions, I don't know if I solved your doubts but I hope I at least helped :)
