Yes, a thank you seals the deal...the thanks implies you are relying on the coworker to follow through, and implies appreciated behavior to come.

If you feel “thank you” is too boring, you can say “I appreciate it”

Definitely ! saying Thank you is a great touch ! definitely say " Thank you so much!" or "Thank you so much again!"
