"Russian" refers to things and people from the country of Russia, while "Bulgarian" refers to things and people from the country of Bulgaria.

They are related and they may have a lot in common, but they are different languages.

Russian is an Eastern Slavic and Bulgarian is Southern Slavic.
One difference is the alphabet. They have very similar alphabets but Russian has the letters ё ы э but Bulgarian do not.
