No,it isn't.
You should say "ありがとうございました"becasue 「お疲れ様でした」should be used to persons of a lower position or colleagues.
Big no no to use it to superiors.

I recommend you to tell your teacher
"今年一年、たいへんお世話になりました"
(Thank you very much for taking care of me during this year.)
It is common and polite expression of Japanese to thank your superiors for their efforts for you.
