Poco natural
A few ways to say this could be:
"In order to have a successful soccer game, a goalie is necessary."
"If you want to have a successful soccer game, you need to have a goalie."
"The goalie is a necessary part of a soccer team, if you want to have a successful game."
If you have a vowel at the beginning of a word (a, i, u, e, o), you use "an".
For example: "I have an apple."
If you have a consonant at the beginning of the word (all other letters), you use "a".
For example: "A goalie is a necessary part of a soccer team."
