Story. A simpler version of the last sentence could be "My story has a message", but her wording draws attention to the fact that stories don't always have a message.
Also, the first sentence needs a comma after says: "Growing up, Lizzo says, she..."

In the last sentence, "to it" is not necessarily required, but she(Lizzo) wants to emphasize the phrase "My story has a message", so she adds "to it".

@hikari195 maybe? It's for emphasis as you say, or it's redundancy which is common in spoken English. That redundancy is especially noticeable in printed interviews as it contrasts with the [usually] grammatically correct/more formal language next to it. (Notice how this 'to it' is a little different to hers.)
