This is an old saying : “Heaven is an American salary, a British house, a Chinese cook and a Japanese wife. Hell is a Chinese salary, a Japanese house, a British cook and an American wife.”
I'm wondering what British houses are like? What are you proud of your houses?

Imagine a normal neighbourhood. They can change a lot, though.
What they normally look like:
a cream house with a brown brick roof, white windows/light brown windows and a porch with a dark brown door,
a white house with a brown brick roof, white windows and a porch with a black door.
It can vary though. 😅

We have wonderful rural estates and cottages (in the Cotswolds, for example), but the average city home is actually quite cramped. I must say that I love how the interior of British houses is often styled: with many soft, bright colours and flowery motifs.
