One of my friends said “will be -ing” sounds more intellectual. But the meaning is exactly the same, right?

They can both convey the same meaning however 'I'm going to work tomorrow' can also mean 'I am (physically) going to (a place of) work tomorrow.'
Also, when saying 'I'm going to work tomorrow' in the sense of 'I will work tomorrow' it sort of conveys a feeling that it is out of choice. I apologise if that doesn't make sense.

Both mean you are working tomorrow, but "going" means you are physically changing your location, so if you work at home, you would never say "I'm going to work." But apart from that they express the same idea in just two different ways. 1. You are working (verb) 2. You are going (verb) to the place where you work with the assumption (unless context indicates otherwise) that you will be working there.

@bhkkakwpkpcp really?! I didn’t know that...
So I cannot say “I’m going to stay at home tomorrow” right?

@amily Sure, you can. Sorry. I explained it wrong.
"I'm going to work tomorrow" can have to different meanings.
1. I'm going to (moving) work (the location) tomorrow = I'm travelling to my office tomorrow (to work)
2. I'm going to (future) work tomorrow = I will work tomorrow.
You can shorten the second sentence in spoken speech to "I'm gonna work tomorrow," but you can't shorten the first sentence. This is why I thought you were referring to the first sentence structure, where "going" represents moving and not future tense.
Generally, if you are going to perform your usual work that you do every weekday at your office or workplace, you will refer to the first sentence, where you are travelling to your workplace. If you are saying the sentence with the second meaning, where in the future you are going to preform work (the verb), it makes it seem like working is infrequent. If you only work part-time or casually or you have to work overtime, you might use the second sentence, but otherwise when it's a regular occurrence, you are using the first one. The same with "I'll be working tomorrow." Depends on the context, but it may make it seem like working on this specific day (tomorrow) is unusual.
Generally when people say "I'm going to work tomorrow," they mean they are travelling to their workplace. Another common way to express this is simply "I'm working tomorrow."
The difference between all these is a feeling of certainty or how unusual it is, kinda.
"I'm going to work (the location) tomorrow."
"I'm working tomorrow."
"I'm gonna work tomorrow."
"I'll be working tomorrow."
The top one is the most common to use though, I'd say.
Does that make sense?
