Why is candy (halwa) spelled that way?
It seems that there is the “ya” letter at the end, and I don’t understand why. In addition, it doesn’t have two dots under it. What’s wrong here?

Because if there were two dots under it , the pronunciation would be like that
“ halwy” and it’s wrong .. without dots because the pronunciation in the end is like “A” not “y”

the letter at the end isn't "ya", it's اَلِفٌ مَقْصُورَة, its pronunciation is almost identical to normal الف "a" حَلْوَى
