Mr.Kenedy apparently hit by the first of what witness believed were three shots.
The 'three shots' should go after the prep. 'of'. Sure, It is okay to provide more specific info about 'there shots' by adding an adjective clause afterwards. But I do not understand This kind of grammar structure.

Could you please analyze the grammar structure for me? Thanks!
