It's not unnatural, it's more niche/slang though. For instance:
- Do you like me?
- I SO like you.
or
- Will you buy that new car?
- I'm SO buying it.
It puts emphasis in casual conversation. It's not a grammatical point or anything.
Edit: Of course, " I like you a lot" is the grammatically correct phrase.
