Geralmente usamos como o "Putain!" do francês.
Outros palavrões:
"Zut! / Zut alors!" = "Droga"
"Merde!" ="Merda!"
"Connard/Connasse" = "Cuzão/Cuzona"
"Fils de pute" = "Filho da puta"
"Va te faire enculer" = "Vai tomar no cu"
"Bâtard" = "Fudido"

A escrita dessas ofensas é bem parecida nos dois idiomas haha:
"Cretino"
"Imbecil"
"Idiota"
"Estúpido"

* Strong Language Alert *
This word is often a curse word, so I'll be forced to use strong language, discretion is advised!
"Caralho" is related to "dick" in Portuguese, but it can be used in different contexts:
- As a way to express surprise:
">... and then he was caught in bed with another woman!
> Caralho!"
- As a way to say "really" or "a lot", in a very crude way, in other words, an intensifier, usually after the preposition "pra":
"She's really insecure"
"Ela é insegura pra caralho"
"They have a lot of issues"
"Eles têm problema pra caralho"
- As a way to say "yes" or generally agree with another person:
"> So you're saying this happens to you all the time?!
> Pra caralho!"
"> I think that's really unfair to me...
> Pra caralho..."
- A very, very, very rude way to refer to one's penis, especially when used with intent. It's usually used by very rude people who are not very much appreciated in their community and/or are high more often than not and offend people out of the blue or generally harbour deep hatred for people in general or maybe in a very heated fight:
"Fuck you! Come here and grab my dick!"
"Vai se fuder! Vem aqui e pega no meu caralho!"
Those are all of the contexts I could remember.
This word is very frequently used by natives, but it's a curse word that can have heavy connotations, so I would advise any non-native speakers to not use it at all, so you don't incur in any grave mistakes and don't end up offending someone. Usually, even natives choose with who to speak using this word, as most people, the majority, don't take kindly to it, especially the "good mannered" people or those that have "high values", such as religious people and zealous parents.
