hahaha sounds the same to me,there might be a difference in grammar, but I don't care.... as a native I would personally use them interchangeably
"habría podido ir a la fiesta pero me enfermé"
"podría haber ido a la fiesta pero me enfermé"
maybe the second one sounds slightly better to say
