When you are telling something that happened to yourself, can you say "and I says?"
I've seen it twice today and I can't tell whether it's wrong or a funny way to talk.

its just a funny way of talking related to parts of a country, but no "and I says" doesn't make sense

It is a very informal way to talk, and would sound strange coming from someone who was not raised in a place where people use that phrase as slang.
