If I want to say “what do you like?,” should I say “qué te gusta a ti?” or just “qué te gusta?”

Cuando agregamos a ti suele ser par dar énfasis a lo que a ti en específico, agrega énfasis, esto por ejemplo si hay varias personas y le preguntas, le dirías qué te gusta a ti en vez de decir, qué te gusta
When we add "a ti " is to emphasize we're asking only that person, for example if there are several people and you want to ask to an specific person, you say qué te gusta a ti, instead of only saying qué te gusta

the both are correct, but if you add "a ti" it makes a stronger emphasis, to whom are you takIng to, which is "to you".
this would be better understandable in the case of "thank you", in Spanish you can say "gracias" and you can say "gracias a ti" which the first one means "thanks" the second one means "thanks to you" making emphasis that I am thank you, and no one else.

Normalmente se pregunta “¿qué te gusta?”, la palabra “te” ya estás indicando a QUIEN (persona) le haces la pregunta, al colocar “a ti” estás cayendo en una redundancia (repetición innecesaria). Suerte.

This is very similar to 日本語 because in this sentence you do a difference between は and が to emphasize YOU.
"¿Qué te gusta?" = あなたは何を好きですか
"¿Qué te gusta a ti?" = あなたが何を好きですか
