Non male and Non c’è male
What is the small difference between when each of these can be used? When would be better to use one over the other?
For example in response to, come stai? Non male or non c’è male?
Also when else would you usually say it?
Come è il gusto? Non male (like this?)
Grazie

I personally use "Non c'è male" almost always in response to "Come va? / Come stai?", not on other situations.
"Non male" is much more versatile, you can use it on many occasions, it's like "not bad" in english, you use it in many contexts :)
However there's no difference, simply "Non c'è male" is almost always used as a response to a specific situation/condition (ex Come stai?)

@touka-chan99 grazie! So for “how are you, how do you feel”, then it’s better to use “non c’è male”.
For everything else, then to use “non male”, the same way as not bad for English.
Grazie!

Exactly! I also talked about it with my mom and we agree that you use "Non c'è male" in reference to a personal condition (physical or mental) or a personal situation, something that concerns yourself (How are you in this period? / how are you doing today? / how are your studies going etc.)
If someone asks me "Is that ice cream good?" I would say "Non male", because I refer to the ice-cream.
Hope I've been helpful 😁
