they are the same thing but to sound like an English speaker it is better to say check my Facebook messages

not that much difference at all. "view" is a little more formal while "check" is casual

See, I'd say "check YOUR facebook messages" if you say "my," it could mean "log onto my facebook account and see what people sent me." Given the correct content though, your way is fine, and I wouldn't doubt that there may be native speakers who would phrase it like that.

Oh, ignore my answer. I misread the question as "check my Facebook messages" and "view my Facebook messages." (I didn't see the "I")
Here you should in fact use "my."
