@MMP99 I've been looking for phonetic resources for quite a while, that site is by far the most useful. I googled "IPA flap T character" There is one after all. In the picture you will see a little v or Chevron under the T in the US phonetic spelling. That is the flap T character. It doesn't appear in the British spelling. I also recommend a YouTube channel called, accents way English. It deals with natural speech and topics like, intonation, syllable stress, informal contractions and so on.

A T sounding like a D is a feature of US accents. It's called a flap T. T at the beginning and end of a word is always T sound. Two T's beside each other are usually the D sound in US. Examples. better, butter. Individual T's in the middle of a word is where it gets confusing. Dictionary phonetics and this app are your best ways to learn which words get a D sound.

The link below is the entire phonetic alphabet for English. It includes example words and recordings. Vowels on the left and consonants on the right. If you find T in the consonant list and listen to the recording. They use a true T sound in the word "getting" That is not standard in US English. It would normally be the flap T. If this link is a complete list. That tells me that the flap T is not represented the phonetic alphabet. That means that for dictionaries you only have the British and America recordings to tell when a flap T occurs.
