Do German people use umbrella when it rains? Recently I have watched a Netflix series called Dark, and no one in that drama does.

Some do, others don't. Personally, I find an umbrella inconvenient to carry around, so I don't bother with it unless there's heavy rain. When I'm wearing casual clothes I also don't mind getting a little wet. Wir sind ja nicht aus Zucker :)

Yes, we do. A lot of people use umbrellas.
Ah, maybe because it's a TV Show. The rain dropping on the umbrella itself is making some noise. Maybe they thought it's to loud. Or they needed it for the plot ,like for a changing of clothes. Who knows 🤷🏻♀️

Don’t people in the US don’t use umbrellas?
Using an umbrella is preference, but I would say that the majority does. Some people also use multi functional outer wear so if it rains they’ll just put up their hood.

Most people I know use an umbrella but I'm personally not a fan of those. I never heard about a stereotype regarding Germans not using umbrellas though lmao
