Quiere un ejemplo? Skating is fun. Pero aquí “skating” no es un verbo, es un sustantivo. Quiere decir Patinar es divertido.
Pero no puedo pensar en un ejemplo donde usamos “ing” con un verbo sin usar una forma de “to be”.
A menos que es parte de la ortografía de la palabra como “bring”. I bring my laptop to work.
