Is the sentence “it’s not really” correct on its own? It’s used in the context of someone saying something you don’t believe to be true.

I’d just go by saying “it’s not true”. Because “really” makes me wanna hear something more like, “it’s not really interesting”. But in the context of not believing it sounds odd to me.
