They're all pretty much synonymous.
Next to you and beside you indicate a more immediate closeness to you. So almost touching you, because it's so close.

By you and close to you are a bit more vague. Something could be a few inches away and it could still be close to you, or by you.

Beside also indicates an exact position (left or right of you). Whereas something could be close to you, but behind you, for example.

"Next to you," "by you," and "beside you," are equivalent. "Close to you" suggests that the bag could be a a little farther away, though still nearby.
