Someone says or asks something about the futire that cannot be known or is not known now. Then you can answer "We will see", meaning that you don't know now but that when the time comes, you Ms that will see whether or not it is this way or another. "See" here, does not necessarily require it to be a visual experience. It just means that in the foreseeable future you will presumably have that information and know for sure, but now you don't.
