Beides geht, "zum Thema" hört sich allgemeiner an, während "Sport" sich danach anhört, als wärest du in irgendeiner Weise mit "Sport konfrontiert (Sportunterricht, ....), und möchtest dazu Fragen stellen.

Nach etwas fragen (to ask for sth., to inquire after .....)
Fragen zu etwas stellen (to ask questions about/concerning something)
Man sagt eher nicht "Fragen nach etwas Stellen", sondern nur "nach etwas fragen"
