Could you help me with this, please?

⭐Assume that there's a group of 3 persons who like cats and dogs below.
- Alex has a cat.
- Emmy has a dog.
- Eddy has a cat.

⭐Do the following sentences all make sense?
(1) They each have a cat or a dog.
(2) Each of them has either a cat or a dog.
(3) They have two cats and a dog. (I want to mean the "They" points to the "group".)

I'm afraid I have one additional favor to ask.
Could you please correct the two sentences with a star⭐ too, if they are unnatural.
