What's Juwish people's point of view about Christians?
What's Juwish people's point of view about Christians?
I wonder whether they see Christians like thieves who have stolen their religion. Is Jesus Christ seen as a negative element?

i don’t really care, but people here seem to be really against people who aren’t like them and it’s super frustrating

@im-trying-okay Is this an excuse to justify the fact that being atheist is better? Because I don't think so.

i don’t remember a hate crime towards christians here, but people will get mad and swear at you or start convincing you that there’s only on god and all that. of course it depends where you are and who you meet, there are a lot of religious cities here, so i would recommend to do a research about the cities before you come. (btw, the center of israel like tel aviv is more accepting).

@im-trying-okay It should not be like that. After all, Chrstians would not negate the jewish God. Everyone believes in it. So where does the hatred come from?

i guess since we’re the promised land people allow themselves to act superior (but tbh it happens with every religion, not just with jews). i try to stay away from those dramas so i can’t really give you a detailed answer, but i just know we should do better

This is kind of a complicated question. I would say that Jews don’t see Jesus in a positive way but this doesn’t mean we hate Christians. Most Jews see Christianity as its whole history and don’t put a real emphasis on Jesus himself- other then him being a false Messiah. We have a long and bloody history and that’s kind of hard to ignore. I’ve been told that Jews typicality put more importance on their history compared to Christians. Nowadays we still have to deal with replacement theology and proselytization and those combined with history can cause discomfort and lack of Communication. We now have more dialogue then we’ve ever had before and it’s only going to get better. As I see it we as Jews definitely have reasons to be cautious when approached by a Christian but overall there is no real hate, just uneasiness. The idea that we think Christians “stole” our religion is completely false btw.

@Alana_Burman I think you are right. I am still not 100 per cent sure that God exists, but anyway I have a great esteem of this one. If there is one, he must be great.

Hi!
I don’t have any problems with Christians whatsoever. I don’t think Christians are thieves lol. Jesus is not seen as a negative element. We just don’t look at him as a godly figure. Jesus was a Jewish man who was born in Judea (Israel).
There are many similarities between Judaism and Christianity and that’s beautiful. The main difference is that Jesus isn’t my savior.

@English1999 Why would Alana_Burman have said somethig like that? Namely that people do not like Jesus?

@Intotheunknown I don’t know why she said that. As a Jewish person I personally don’t hate Jesus. Alana doesn’t speak for all Jewish people. Some Jews like Jesus, some Jews don’t know who Jesus is, some Jews EVEN believe in Jesus and of course some Jews probably hate Jesus.

I didn’t mean to insinuate that Jews hate or dislike Jesus. I mentioned before bad history, replacement theology and proselytism as reasons that Jews might be uncomfortable with Christianity. Any type of dislike in the past usually wasn’t directed at Jesus as an individual during his time, but at the church. In the 21st century we have more dialogue so we can see here that there are different opinions and different experiences. I just wanted to honestly explain the (legitimate) reasons why some Jews might be a little hostile towards Christians. Again, this doesn’t equal hate. I personally come from a house where we discuss Christian-Jewish relations a lot.

@Intotheunknown i can only speak for myself on that one, i really don't care much about religion
