Situation: receive a call from customer
Customer: hey, I would like to schedule an appointment on next Thursday at 3 pm.
Me: Ok, got it. What is the purpose for the appointment, such as about tax return, investment or registration of company?
Question: I feel like I should not ask “what is the purpose for the appointment” should I just asked “ what bring you here?”
How can I be more natural ?

If you are an employee talking to a customer, then "What is the purpose of the appointment?" is completely natural and normal. "What brings you here?" is a bit too casual and conversational for a work environment.

These are all basically the same. Feel free to choose any of them:
"Okay, and could you let me know what your appointment is for?"
"Yup, no problem. Could you just let me know what the appointment will be for?"
"Okay, and could you tell me the reason for the appointment?
