yes, you can, but don't forget to also say "of" after "a little bit" = "a little bit of the story"

you can also simply say "so I changed part of the story."

It should be, “so I changed the story a little bit.
Otherwise it is good.

@sarahender34 You're right! I was actually thinking of writing "a little bit" at the end, so I forgot the "of" when I moved it into a different place.
