"Zugehen" is an action, you reduce the distance between you and something.
Example: "ich gehe auf dich zu" (I'm getting closer to you/ I walk towards you)
"Hingehen" is with a location/ something that is somewhere and you have to go there.
example: "Gehst du zur Party hin?" (Are you going to go to the party?)
"Hingehen" does not really have the point of moving forward, it's just going to a place. I hope that can help you :)
