@moonglasses You mean that the US hates Chinese people or Chinese government?

@moonglasses It's kind of hard to explain, because it's a very political issue. Part of the reason is due to China being a "communist" country + a lot of American propaganda. Although I don't think the US as a whole hates China/Chinese people, it just depends on who you talk to and especially what political beliefs they have :)

@moonglasses I think that the problem is with the Chinese government and the treatment of its people.
Also, many people think of products made in China as inferior, poorly made or dangerous. And there are a lot of examples, like baby formula.

Most Americans don’t. A lot of Americans don’t like the Chinese government, and view it as oppressive, but that doesn’t mean the Chinese people are disliked. Especially in the older generations, there’s a lot of anti-communist sentiment from the Red Scare/Cold War that some may spin into a dislike of Chinese people. However, the bottom line is that Americans don’t like the Chinese government, but have little issue with the people themselves (of course, there are exceptions though)

Many Americans have negative opinions about the CCP rather than about China as a whole, or about the people of China. The opinions are generational.
Boomers (born 1940s - 1960s) remember the Cold War and may have negative opinions of the CCP because of China's closeness to the USSR and their dislike of Mao Zedong.
Generation X (1960s - 1980) may have negative opinions over Tibet and the PLA's handling of the Tiananmen Square Incident of 1989.
Millennials and Gen Z don't remember The Tiananmen Incident, but they read about it in school, where the descriptions was overwhelmingly negative against the PLA's handling of it. They care more about the CCP's handling of Internet censorship, Xinjiang, and the legal status of Hong Kong and Taiwan. They aren't familiar with Tibet anymore and have no strong opinion on it.
These are generalizations, of course. Americans know very little about China other than the CCP. They like Chinese people, food, aesthetics, and some even like Feng Shui and Acupuncture.
Most Americans would be happy to have a Chinese neighbor, and would welcome their child having a spouse from China.
