To make room for someone by sliding sideways. Example. I'm sitting on a bench. You ask me to scooch a little bit so you can sit.

@Juneheavens You're welcome. I recently found this website and my friends who are learning English are finding it useful. You type in a word and it gives you a list of words that rhyme with it. Example. Type in "ear". You get, here/hear, beer, fear etc. It makes pronunciation practice much more efficient. 😉
