This was really close. As ellinko said, if you want to use "take" we need a period of time to follow (1 day, 1 week, 2 months), and if you want to use "by weekend" we should use the future "will" plus "finish" or "be done".
"I hope the repairs only take a few days." "I hope the repairs will be finished by next weekend."
Pronunciation: Good and clear! Very easy to understand. Try to make the "o" in "hope" sound more like an "o" though, and try to make the "s" in "repairs" a little more pronounced.
