¿Cuál es la diferencia entre Did you say that you had never been to Okinawa? y Had you never been to Okinawa? ?Puedes dar oraciones como ejemplo.

The meaning of them is the same thing, isn't it?
They're confirming if the person visited Okinawa in the past, right?

@Ochan in first case the listener must have already stated that he/she/it has never been to Okinawa and the speaker is surprised or may be didn't hear well first time and just reconfirming. In second case the speaker is asking the listener for first time. Also, "have" is correct instead of "had".
