@Pumpk-a-boo You can use it before you give a piece of information eg Just so you know, my flight has been delayed an hour.

@Pumpk-a-boo can be used if you feel something might be important or useful to someone - but you don’t have to use this in conversation
Commonly if someone sends you some information with “FYI” this means “for your information” and this has a similar meaning to just so you know.
