Hey guys,
my task is to complete a bunch of sentences with WHILE, AS or WHEN.
I'm stuck with this one sentence. Could someone please help me?
Here's the sentence:
"They arrived ______ (while/as/when) we were trying to phone them."
Personally, I'd say: "They arrived >just as< we were trying to phone them" but I'm not allowed to add the word "just", I guess... ^^'
Thanks in advance for your help and have a nice day!

I agree that "just as" would be good here, but "as" will work just fine.

i'm not that sure myself, but i did some research on their use. i'd say that it's "while".
apparently, "when" is used when an action is interrupted and "while" is used when an action already happening is interrupted.
about "as", though... it's used when two actions are happening at the same time. from your example, i'd say that the people arriving had just happened while they were already trying to be called. :)
