“You get the point.”
they mean the same thing, there is no difference

Ehhhhh I disagree
I'd say getting the gist of something is understanding enough that you understand the scenario
But getting to the point would mean to not waste anytime on getting you to understand the scenario

@Suzanne_Nyan saying that “you get the point” as opposed to “getting to the point” is not the same thing though. the person asks what the difference between the words are, so i said by themselves theyre the same thing. it is different in context though
