Why do people very often use the abbreviation of "ur" to mean "u are", "ur" shouldn't mean the abbreviation of "your"? For example I happened to see written "ur soo cute omg" is this correct?

if you're to pronounce "ur" quickly when speaking, it sounds like "you're" and that's basically why people use it. this only works, though, with online conversations. and yes, that sentence would make sense in this case.
