Do you use "draw something out" and "pull something out" interchangeably? If not, what would be the significant difference between them both? (details down below)

Just to set an example, I don't get the nuance between DRAW/PULL out a weapon.... and I'm not quite sure if I should use OUT here (can I omit it in examples like this?)

The difference is very subtle.
To me, if someone draws something out, it sounds like he was hiding it beforehand. So this works well with weapons, for instance.
You can also pull out a weapon, but that doesn't carry the same nuance, it's more neutral.
Draw can be used with/without "out". Pulling needs "out" if you use it in this context.
