Context is more hypothetical and more common in an academic context ;) it refers to the hypothetical environment in which something happens. If something is ‘out of context’, it is out of the environment in which is normally found.
‘That was so rude!’ ‘Well, it was taken out of context.’
Situation is much more common in spoken conversations and daily use, and it used when referring to actual events that have or will happen.
Very important: In an action movie you say ‘we have a situation’, never ‘we have a context’.
